Why Travel Agents?

| Travel Articles | June 25, 2012

With the excessive use of internet, people generally think why to go to travel agents when one can manage everything themselves. The answer is very simple, they can help us save our time, provide cheap tickets and hence they have all the information that are specific to our needs and requirements. A travel agent can advise us properly, they explain the quality of location, gives ideas about the discounted packages they offering, they also guide us the legal matters and all the visa process that is valuable.

The major advantage of using them is that they are responsible for everything, like if a person books online and at the time of arrival he got to know that there is no record then or if a flight get delayed or cancelled and has to be rescheduled? That’s why to avoid such scenario people use travel agents to manage the entire trip in their budget. But still if you want to plan a trip by yourself then before planning any activity do consult any agent so that he gives you valuable advice so as to avoid any problem. Now the technology is so advanced that everything is available on the internet, but still no one is expert like travel agents. Time is rushing and everyone is so busy in his or her life that there is no time to take the pain of planning trips that why travel agents are considered to be at the top priority.

A strong relationship with the travel agent is a plus point if you have to travel often. A travel agent is beneficial in many ways; you get incentives and can save up to 80% etc. Planning a trip is major hectic task for any individual, you have to make a budget for this, and if you planning to go with your family then it should be a perfect journey so that you don’t face any sort of problems. By telling your options to the travel agent, it is easy for them to fit you in some suitable place.

The major part of travelling is accommodation and food, and when you are going to a new place then it is difficult to search the things in that time frame, to avoid this then travel agents manage all the issues and take care of your journey. If a person is travelling for very first time then he should take guidance of such agents so that you can save money as well as great deals in short time because this is the time to relax instead of taking tensions of visa and arrangements, a good travel agent knows how to solve all these issues fast. Technology and airlines have changed the opportunities for everyone; people are more audacious and want to explore the world. Even planning your honeymoon, always consult a travel agent because they have all the knowledge regarding such packages which gives you benefit and make your vacation a more memorable trip.

The World is Within Reach

| Travel Articles | June 23, 2012

What comes to your mind when I say “Around the World in Eighty days”? Passepartout, travelling with the hero of the story, Phileas Fogg, in steamships trains, on elephants and every kind of transport all over the world just to win a bet. May be you have a bet with your friends too? Or the world is enticing enough to make you leave your abode and travel unlocking the wonders of the world. Who knows what you may stumble upon? You could be the next Columbus!

When anyone of us thinks of going over to the nearest state even, quite frankly the issue that bugs people the most is finance – budget. Travelling may seem like a costly hobby and not everyone can afford it. However, I might just give you valuable insights to the secrets of the travelling world and you can make your travels in the least costs possible.

The secret to the best possible and comfortable travel trip is to plan ahead of it. Spur of the moment plans might seem exciting but planning a trip in advance may help you prepare for the worst. You can always browse extensively all the travel agencies offering travel packages and choose the most suitable one for yourself.
When you decide on your destination, you must look into the transportation services around that area because you will need to avail those services often when you go sightseeing around the area. So prior to setting out on your travels, make sure you check the train services, train schedules and mark out the routes you are going to take. The bus services in the area, the bus points near to your accommodation and the bus routes. In some countries like United Kingdom, it is cheaper to issue a travel voucher for the time duration of your trip instead of purchasing bus or train tickets daily. Ships and ferry trips can also save money. They should be preferred over air travel which is excruciatingly costly. Air travel costs can be reduced by using your credit points awarded on credit card purchases.

When choosing your accommodation, pick hostels, single rooms and paying guest offers instead of hotels and lodgings. Some places might have organic farmers who offer lodgings and food in exchange for some work at the farm. It will be a great learning experience and a different one from the usual travel experiences. Staying in touch with the locals of the area might be helpful to secure the cheapest accommodation and learn about the area from them.

Cooking yourself may not be an available option when you are travelling but still making your own food will dramatically decrease your travel costs. Stay in touch with your family and friends so that they know where to reach you in case of any emergency.
Most importantly, set a budget for your travels and DO NOT try to succeed it. You can make your budget depending upon how long you are staying, where you are staying, and what is the economic condition of that area.

Why do we Travel?

| Travel Articles | June 23, 2012

Travel broadens the mind. jumping on a train or a bus to your favorite destination will not only offer you with a change of scenery but will also make you more open minded and creative.

Human beings have long been described as travel-nuts. We love to travel. What is it about travel that we love? People look for adventures and a change of scenery in their every day routine and lives. For some, it becomes an all-consuming passion of their lives. These people mold their career, education and other Necessary activities of their lives with traveling. Some travel and challenge themselves to the different Surroundings, to enjoy the new experiences and find their inner selves, which they may have lost to their extremely stressed daily Routines. While some do it just to learn a new language, and to experience the new cultures that they have never encountered with before.

Sometimes the basic Purpose for some people is to travel is only to have fun,   party or to make new friends or relations. People Yearn to see new things, meet new people and try new kinds food.

Sometimes people travel to either lose themselves or to find themselves in the spur of the moments they are vacationing. The human Being travels with an open heart and mind to learn more about the world than any newspaper or news channel can inform them about. They add to their knowledge what they don’t know already. As the human mind travels, it tends to become like a child again. George Santayana describes in his essay, The Philosophy of Travel, the Harvard philosopher writes, that we sometimes need “to escape into open solitudes, into aimlessness, into the moral holiday of running some pure hazard, in order to sharpen the edge of life, to taste hardship, and to be compelled to work desperately for a moment at no matter what.”

There is a great connection between travel and travail. Travel in every sense guides you towards a better side of wisdom and compassion. You see and feel the world more clearly. Feeling the surroundings becomes most important because without feeling or seeing anything makes you feel blind.

Traveling brings a person great joy. It gives you the luxury of leaving all your worries and the same dry stressful routine at home. Traveling is like going to another world. It makes you to stop thinking about your worries for a change. We also travel to stir out Complacencies by reviewing our way of our thinking from a different perspective. In some cases, we also try to fill the gaps of those that have left us during the course of our lives.

When a person travels, he carries his Ideas and his values with himself. We  are like a video screen, like a newspaper that carry our information with ourselves. We give and take to the surroundings we go to.
Traveling spins us around. It makes us see the wonderful Sights and values that we generally ignore in our daily routine. It also may uncover a side off us we have forgotten in the busy routine of our lives. We experience Various Moods and States of mind that we might have never experienced before.

Travelling and Us

| Travel Articles | June 23, 2012

The world travel has been derived from the French word ‘travail’. The term is used to cover all the activities that are performed during movement. There can be many reasons for travelling. A person can go for travelling either for recreation, tourism, research, travelling for some kind of research, visit some people, to collect charity for people, or to migrate to another land. There can also be some kind of religious travel such as pilgrimage; like the one some Muslims from all over the world come every year to Saudi Arabia. Some may prefer travelling for trade and commuting while some may opt for obtaining health care.

There are different modes through which a person can go for travelling. Some may opt for going through sea while some may go for travelling through the air route. Many of the adventurists prefer going from country to country on their bike. A Pakistani named Moin Khan recently completed his journey from America to Pakistan to show solidarity with the people of Pakistan and to let the world know that Pakistan is not a terrorist country and is rich in hospitality and friendly behavior. There are some seasons in which travelling from one country to the other country increases. Many of the leading airlines of the world introduce some special packages in order to facilitate their people. Travel can be local or foreign. In some countries of the world, travelling from one country to the other requires a valid passport but most of the European countries have introduced some laws that enable you to travel from one European country to the other on same visa and passport.

The prevailing security situation in the world has forced the authorities to consider introducing some strict travel policies and precautions. Sometimes the travelers feel extreme difficulty in receiving security clearance from relevant security agencies. So it is necessary to keep an eye on the surroundings and report any suspicious behavior to them. You should not go helping out a person who is asking you to clear his baggage while he clears his passport at the customs office. There have been numerous incidents of drugs being transported to other countries in this manner and many innocent people have been caught up in the mess through this method. It is necessary that as soon as you arrive in some foreign country, you get yourself registered with the embassy in order to avoid any kind of trouble.

One of the many difficulties that visitors face while traveling is the driving laws of that country. Many countries of the world have right hand driving rules while some have left hand driving rules. So the people for example going from Asian countries like China, Pakistan and India must consider the driving rules in USA and the adjoining countries. There are strict laws for driving violations and one can land in jail if rules and regulations on the road are not properly followed. There are various help and guidance services that are provided by the airliners themselves and also by the foreign missions of the respective countries in order to help the tourist from facing any serious difficulty during their course of stay in the country.

| Travel Articles | June 23, 2012

Travelling is one of the most sought after luxuries in today’s world. Many of the leading brands and companies have been focusing on travelling since the industry has gained a significant momentum in spite of many economic down turns. Travel industry is one of the many industries that is still flourishing despite some serious setbacks that world experienced since 2008. ‘Emirates’ and ‘Gulf Air’ are the leading airliners of the world who are still offering many economic packages.

Travel agents are the backbone of the booming travel industry that we have witnessed in the last decade. The companies and the airliners have signed many contracts in order to give more access and more freedom to the travel agents. Travel agents are the best to consult when going on a holiday. There are numerous packages that need to be decided on the basis of budget and many other important things such as the weather and language. Travel agents can best provide you with these kinds of help and guidance.

In the last decade or so, the way consumers buy travel products and services have greatly changed. The relationship between travel agents, travel suppliers and consumers has also evolved. Travel agents in these scenarios have played a pivotal role in distribution of its values and customer loyalty. The travel agent is an agent of consumer. They act on behalf of their client. Travel agents help the customers choose the best available rate. They can also guide to convenient one-stop shopping areas which can make you save both money and time.
If a problem arises in your travel plan, a travel agent is there for you in order rectify the problem for you. On your behalf, the travel agent will try to settle any of the issues you are having while you enjoy the majestic beauty of the land you are visiting without any worries. One of the travel associations ‘ASTA’ is fighting to improve the travel experience of all the customers. Main emphasis has been paid on the improvement of air transportation for all the consumers without considering how they choose to purchase travel.

Unlike getting guidance and advice on the internet, you can take the advantage of interacting directly with your travel agent. There are many complexities involved when you decide to travel to a particular location and the travel agents are the best whom you can consult in order to inquire for any kind of problem you want to ask. They are just like your neighbors who offer you best advice and guide you to choose the best from available options. One of the great essences of consulting travel agents is the saving of time. You can surf millions of millions of web pages but you can’t replace the help and guidance that an experienced travel agent can give you. Another of the great advantage of consulting a travel agent is the trust. The companies and the airlines impart their trust to their travel agents which in turn imparts to us and this is the bond that every consumer wants with their desired travel company.

Travel Guides and their Importance

| Travel Articles | June 23, 2012

Travelling industry is one of the most resilient and one of the most expensive industries in the world today. The industry that is growing so much at this stage has a lot of hard work, dedication and sincere efforts behind it to bring it to this position. It is not relevant to go into the details of who started the industry and who is responsible for the growth of this industry. This, however may be said that collective efforts of all the people around the world who are connected with this industry, directly or indirectly have greatly helped it achieve what its now.

In the progress of the travel industry, the role of travel guides cannot be ignored, for they are the one of the important factors for the growth of this industry. Their work has been outstanding throughout. There are various resources of how to continue travelling around the globe knowing each and tiny details of the places you go. Many of the people prefer to hire a travel guide who would guide them around the forts, around the beaches and the artistic mosques while many of the people opt for choosing the websites and many of those travel guide website that are available online free of cost.

Many countries have posted some of the brilliant travel guides on their official websites. The most prominent name in this industry is that of Malaysia. Malaysia has been using every media from social to cultural to reflect their tourism industry. As a result of which their tourism industry traffic has gone threefold in the last decade and their economy is now booming with major part of their GDP consists of the contributions from tourism industry.

Travel guides are the easiest way to know about the important places that are worth visiting in a particular country. Many of the countries distribute flyers and advertisements with important information labeled on the advertisement supplements. Also they use different kinds of marketing strategies to advertise the most visited places in their country.

Pakistan for example also started a Television program with the name ‘Travel Guide of Pakistan’. It was one of the most easiest and one of the most beautiful programs in which the host takes you to variety of places around Pakistan with the focus on revealing each and every tiny detail they could share. The program gained significant audience since many of the areas to the North of Pakistan have limited access. Going there is somewhat risky since the weather is not always on your side. The air transport is not that good. So the only option left is to for a motor ride which in that case is very perilous given the nature of the roads and the harsh weather conditions. Even while going to Skardu in summers is considered dangerous since there are many small rivers that must be crossed before the sun set or else they get flooded. Such travel guides programs such as Pakistan’s are followed everywhere so that those who are interested get all the real time experience.

What is a travel guide?

| Travel Articles | June 23, 2012

A travel guide is a sort of a bible of information about a certain place, mostly tailored to fit the needs of a tourist. A travel guide book is the best source of information about a certain location’s cultural and historical information. It can be termed as the tourist’s best friend. When you are new to a certain place, and specifically visiting that place for tourism, you might not know a lot of good spots and ability to ask various people about it. Plus the information you are able to get from those people is going to vary from person to person, and could be a lot more time consuming.

A travel guide book not only provides you just with directions, but also gives you a complete description of the area, so much so that a well written guide can actually make you feel that you have already visited the place after just reading about it.

A typical well written travel guide shows you the geographical location of the place with respect to the adjoining areas, the myths that have been around about a certain place, hotels and motels available at the locality, their charges during on and off season, availability of banks and gas stations, internet and certain other facilities, the severity of weather, the travelling time to and from famous landmarks that you must visit, modes of travelling to and from your destination and the places that you must visit in order of their priority. It also provides you the insight as to how you should behave with the natives, and what they expect of you and what should you expect of them.

I had been living at my place for more than 11 years and even then a travel guide told me so much about the place where I lived, something I would not have found out otherwise. I used the travel guide by Isobel Shaw, and it was remarkable and very detailed.

Most travel guides are available in e-book format these days, but I personally prefer hard copies, which are available at an economical price from major bookshops and libraries, so that you are able to carry them around in your backpack while hitch-hiking and are able to consult it for directions whenever you need. Travel guide books are usually available in many languages, and the best part is, that a certain travel guide would usually consist of two sections, one in a globally accepted language and the other section in the native language of the place you want to visit, which gives you an extra credit in conversing with the native people.

Some travel agencies also hire tourists to help them compile information for a travelling guide as another side business. This has a twofold benefit, firstly, it booms their business, as many people come to know of the existence of the places they could spend their leisure time, and in turn they have to contact the subject travel agency to set up their trips which brings not only publicity and further potential clients, but also, the published travel guides become another source of income for them.
